Compromise — Privacy policy

Compromise does not collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDK. Nothing you enter is sent to the developer, and nothing is linked to your identity or used for tracking.

What leaves your device

• To Apple: your location (with your permission) and the starting points of your group, to find places and compute travel times, as any use of Apple Maps does.
• To a public data store (a static file host, Cloudflare R2): the rounded map cells near where your group will meet, to read pre-cut open map data — more places, and what is needed to tell a sunny terrace. Never anyone’s address or starting point.
• To the app or service you choose (the share sheet, Apple Maps, Google Maps, Citymapper, Waze): the name and position of a meeting place, only when you share or open it.

What stays on your device

Your settings, your most recent addresses, the last address you gave each named friend, and cached map data. Your contacts are read on the device, with your permission, to suggest names; only the name you pick is kept. Settings › Privacy › Clear remembered addresses erases the addresses.

Your choices

Location and Contacts permissions can be refused or withdrawn in iOS Settings; the app then works with typed addresses and names.

Data sources

Map and place data come from Apple and from open-data providers, each credited with its licence in the app under Settings › Data sources.
